Want to prepare wonderful cruise ship dishes at home? Check out a new website TheCruiseChef.com.

The site has favorite recipes from chefs of cruise lines, as well as news of wine and culinary cruises and cooking tours.

There also is a free newsletter, cookbooks and videos and travel gear, a food and kitchen shop, reports on cruises taken by the editors, and a link to a travel agency for booking the cruises.

Editor of the website is Shirley Linde, well-known travel writer and medical author. Linde is author or co-author of 37 books, including best-sellers. Many of the site’s recipes are secret or favorite recipes she obtained directly from chefs she interviewed while cruising.

The website is produced by SmallShipCruises.com, but features recipes from cruise ships of all sizes -- from barges to megaships. Many of the recipes are regional to the destinations of the ships and include Cajun recipes from cruises to Louisiana bayou country, salmon and crab recipes from Alaska, and traditional recipes from the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia, and Europe.

The site has special help for corporations and other large groups who wish to charter ships for wine and culinary cruises and also has programs for Meetings At Sea and for Floating Hotels at major events in port cities.

You can find the website at www.TheCruiseChef.com and can also subscribe to the free newsletter there that has news of upcoming culinary and wine cruise events.

[Ed: You may use sample recipes from the website for your publication as long as you cite us as the source and provide our website address for reference. Our newsletter is available as a column. Photos and background material are at the website at About Us. Ship photos are also available.]
