DebutsOne of the World’s Largest Thalasso Spas in December 2002

September 4, 2002 (Bali, Indonesia)—Among exciting developments now under way at The Ritz-Carlton, Bali Resort and Spa, is the addition of one of the world’s largest Thalasso spas, scheduled to open in December 2002. The expansive European aesthetic spa facility covers more than five hectares, encompassing six hydrotherapy treatment rooms and 21 massage rooms.

In addition to private treatment rooms, six luxurious spa villas will be available, each featuring individual private, indoor and outdoor therapy areas with baths, a swimming pool and relaxation pavilion.

Already ranked the fourth “Best Spa Abroad” in 2001 by Travel + Leisure magazine, The Ritz-Carlton, Bali Resort & Spa, increases its spa expertise through hiring designers and engineers from Thailand, Indonesia, France and the United States to implement the Thalasso seawater therapy facilities.

Among key features of the Spa facilities is the 650 square meter seawater therapy pool, surrounded by Balinese stone statues with intricate carvings. The pool delivers fresh seawater from the Indian Ocean in therapeutic jet streams, microbubbles, water massages and Aqua beds. The pool is augmented with many peaceful and cool resting areas along the cliff-top location overlooking the Indian Ocean, perfect for a soothing break before or after individual or couples’ therapies.

Body and beauty treatments will be delivered in exotic packages or a la carte for head to toe pampering. Treatments include under-seawater massage, affusion shower, hydro jet, sea weed wrap and anti-cellulite therapy. Traditional Balinese treatments also will be available.

Day spa facilities will be open to resort guests and visitors. Spa users will have access to the resort’s extensive fitness facilities, tennis courts, saunas and Turkish baths, as well as the 18-hole golf putting course.

The Ritz-Carlton, Bali Resort & Spa was voted the Best Resort in the World in 2002 and #2 Top Asian Resort by Conde Nast Traveler. The 48-ocean view villa, 290-room resort hotel is located on a bluff in Jimbaran, 15 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport.
