Matheson’s Wetlands is a hidden treasure in the heart of the Colorado Plateau. Most visitors to nearby Moab, Utah scurry to Arches and Canyonlands National Park never knowing the 875 acre preserve, “a place of renewal”, exists. After a visit to the shimmering desert creations the green of the Nature Conservancy, set aside in 1991, where over 200 avian species have been spotted, soothes the eye and calms the spirit.
