Tadashi

Born and raised in Sandai, Japan, Tadashi developed his sense of style and drama early in life. He realized that his dream of working as an artist in Japan was unattainable, and immigrated to the United States for a fashion education in Southern California. Attending the Los Angeles Trade Technical College in the 70s in costume design, he fine-tuned his craft and dreams. Combining simplicity of form with his artistic background, Tadashi successfully translates designs to make women feel glamorous. In 1982, he established his own company, gaining Bergdorf Goodman as his first client. Today, his collection sells worldwide.

A graduate of Esmod Modelle L’Ecole fashion design school in Paris and Mueller Und Sohn Modeschule in Duesseldorf, he was a frequent spectator at the catwalks of Paris, London and The Hague. He eventually pursued his own annual fashion shows in Indonesia, and has shown work in Japan and Vietnam, presenting haute couture highlighting the kebaya.

Carmanita

From a family of maestros of traditional batik, the West Java native-born Carmanita constantly reinvents traditional patterns and colors with modern innovations. Her unique identity has penetrated the international market, including several European countries and United States, where her shows present surprising innovations every single time.

Suarti, named for the goddess of art and knowledge, carries Bali in her soul. Through her international stature as an artist, dancer, jewelry designer and musician, since 1996 she has been a featured television personality in the United States, England, Japan, Germany and Canada.
