FIRST BALI PORT GUIDE WELCOMES DARWIN-BALI YACHT RACERS

July 24, 2002 (Bali, Indonesia)- Bali¹s first guide book for marine and yacht users is launched for the Second Darwin-Bali Yacht Race, July 27-August 10. Produced by Bali-based publisher The Works, the pocketsize, spiral bound book, ³Bali Port Guide 2002² was flown to Darwin before the racing yachts cast off for Bali.

The publication parallels standard guidebooks for marine ports around the world, said publisher Dewi Campbell. The book includes information essential to inbound yacht sailors, such as sailing permit and visa requirements, Benoa Harbor navigation, Bali tide charts, marina services, and dates on the regional yacht racing calendar.

³The book was prepared primarily as a resource for the Darwin-Bali Yacht Race,² said Campbell, ³and copies were available to racers prior to departure for Bali from Darwin. With a wealth of general, cultural and tour information about Bali, the guidebook is designed to inform yacht sailors about opportunities to experience the island during their visit,² she added. Copies of the book, registered with an International Standard Book Number by the National Library of Indonesia/Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia, will be contributed to regional marina libraries, providing resource on Bali¹s marine facilities.

In this first edition, the book is supported by local advertisers, including Bali International Medical Center, Bali Marina, The Bale, Chem Dry, Dijon, ER Tours, PT Indonusa Marine, International SOS Bali, Gourmet Garage, Le Bake Shop, Puri Esthetic Spa, Sea Drive, Sourcing Bali and Studio Satumata.

Copies of the book are available for US$20 from the publisher at Jl. Muding
Indah 2X, Kerobokan (tel: (62-361) 423596, info@the-works.biz)
